Every once in a while, I’ll take a gander at whatever drivel the Boston Globe’s resident right-winger Jeff Jacoby has to offer, just to get the blood flowing in the morning. Here’s the gist of what he had for me today:
Criticizing Reagan for promoting “states’ rights” in Philadelphia, Miss.? Unfair (he didn’t know it was racist!).
Criticizing Bush for speaking at Bob Jones “University?” Unfair (it’s not like he went to school there!).
Criticizing Samuel Alito for his membership in Concerned Alumni of Princeton? Unfair (he didn’t support ALL of their positions!).
Criticizing Barack Obama for his associations with Bill Ayers and Jeremiah Wright? Totally fair. Especially when those associations “have such deep roots.”
