Cuts From The Stimulus Bill

Steve Benen has an excellent post on what’s apparently being cut out of the stimulus bill in the Senate. Of course, they’re cutting some of the most important stuff: education funding, school construction, public transit (of course!). Defense-related spending, meanwhile will be increased (of course!). Benen focuses on food stamps.

What’s most interesting are the figures he provides (from Moody’s) for which types of stimulus spending (and yes, the term “spending” here obviously includes tax cuts and tax rebates, as that is government spending) provide the most “bang for the buck.” I’m reproducing the whole thing here:
